how you brighten my days

You–You alone will have stars as no one else has them…In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so, it will be as if all the stars will be laughing when you look at the sky at night.  You, only you, will have stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me… You will always be my friend. You will want to laugh with me. And you will sometimes open your window, so, for that pleasure… It will be as if, in place of the stars, I had given you a great number of little bells that knew how to laugh… ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

  1. Ahhhhh . . . Yesterday I saw an image of several “Golden’s” lounging on a beach in Florida. ( I thought of you . . . bright star, outside my bedroom window . . . to the southwest of me! ) The title of the photograph was “Spring Break”!

  2. Double the pleasure here; Satie and St. Euxpéry. This passage is especially lovely in French, read aloud. Oh the stars, what would we do without them?

    • Double the pleasure indeed, my friend. I’ve been listening to French music all day. Wish you were here to translate. ☺️💙💙

  3. This is beautiful, Marcia. Hello Beau, you are so cute. Marcia, you’re going to love your new lights, especially in the still of the night…..they will beam just like you. Have a restful weekend, love.

  4. Those sweet faces! And this was my daughter’s favorite book.

Not a word of French do I speak but Cafe de Flore is the first CD of those loaded on my stereo–yes, stereo. I tried Pandora, etc. and missed holding my CDs in my hands, wish I still had all my LPs!

A lovely Sunday to you, Marcia,
